An Annapolis man was charged with driving through a red light yesterday morning after his car rammed another vehicle during rush hour at the intersection of Gov. Warfield Parkway and Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia's Town Center, Howard County police said.

Darrell Hunt, 41, of the 400 block of Forest Beach Road in Annapolis, was issued a traffic violation. Neither he nor the other driver, Mary Wickham, 34, of the 5900 block of Watchlight Court in Columbia's Long Reach village, were injured, police said.

According to police, Mr. Hunt was driving his 1991 Jeep Cherokee south on Gov. Warfield Parkway about 8:30 a.m. when he failed to stop at the traffic signal and collided with Ms. Wickham's 1993 Ford Probe, which was going west on Little Patuxent Parkway.

The accident interrupted the flow of traffic but was cleared within an hour, police said.
