Tiedemann's 16 lead Fallston girls to 49-39 triumph over Parkville Cougars thwart rally in 3A North quarterfinal

Karen Tiedemann scored 16 to lead the No. 6 Fallston Cougars (15-2) past the Parkville Knights (15-8), 49-39, in a state Class 3A North quarterfinal game at Parkville.

Fallston thwarted a late Parkville rally after a 14-point halftime lead was cut to seven with four minutes left.

* C. Milton Wright 68, Franklin 49: Erin Updegrove scored 26 points as the No. 4 Mustangs (20-0) won a Class 3A North game.

* Catonsville 73, Overlea 19: Meghan Mohler scored 23 points for the visiting and No. 8 Comets (20-2) in a Class 2A North game.

* Poly 57, City 31: Lindsay Willemain had 12 points and 18 rebounds as the No. 12 Engineers (19-3) downed the visiting Knights in a Class 2A East game.

* Milford Mill 67, Patapsco 31: Akialh Crowner scored 12 points as the No. 16 Millers (23-2) topped the visiting Patriots in a Class 2A North game.

* Towson 48, Loch Raven 33: Leslie Hunt with 11 led the Generals (12-6) past the visiting Raiders in a Class 2A North game.

* Dulaney 46, Lake Clifton 35: Tracy Miksis had 13 points and seven rebounds to lift the Lions (8-13) over the visiting Lakers in a Class 4A North game.

* Hereford 53, Catoctin 24: Nancy Zentz had 22 points and 13 rebounds as the host Bulls (14-6) beat the Cougars in a Class 1A South game.

* Bel Air 51, Kenwood 25: Jackie Hinson scored 14 points as the host Bobcats (13-9) won in a Class 3A North game.

* Atholton 51, Dunbar 18: Sara Pierson scored 10 points as the Raiders (10-11) topped the host Poets (3-15) in a Class 3A East game.

* Howard 83, Carver 38: Chanelle Carter scored 25 to power the host Lions (11-12) past the Bears (10-9) in a Class 3A East game.

* South River 90, Forest Park 40: Adria Lewnes scored a season-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the host Seahawks (8-16) over the Foresters in a Class 2A East game.

* Mervo 71, Douglass 35: Cheryl Evans, Monica Lax, Alexis Washington each scored 14 points to lead the Mustangs (13-5) past the visiting Ducks in a Class 4A North game.

* Edgewood 48, Perryville 25: Erica Turner scored 11 to pace the host Rams (5-15) past in a Class 1A North game.

Boys

* Lake Clifton 93, Dulaney 42: Kevin Braswell had a triple double (12 points, 10 assists, 10 steals) to lead No. 4 Lake Clifton (19-2) over host Dulaney in a Class 4A North region quarterfinal.

* Carver 76, Howard 54: In his first varsity start freshman Miguel Wilson had 23 points to lead Carver (3-18) over Howard in a Class 3A South game.

* Catonsville 60, Overlea 56: Victor Gray scored 16, as visiting Catonsville rallied from a 12-point deficit in the third quarter to defeat Overlea in a Class 2A North game. Dave Bortz (14 points) hit a three-pointer with 2:22 remaining to put Catonsville ahead to stay.

* Bel Air 49, Kenwood 48: Trailing by one, 48-47, Joe Tyrrell hit a baseline jumper at 1:06 to lift host Bel Air (9-12) over Kenwood in a Class 3A North game.
