Motorcyclist, 24, killed in collision with pickup

A 24-year-old Woodbine man was killed late Sunday morning when his motorcycle collided with a neighbor's pickup truck on John Pickett Road.

Police said Tom Wayne Kinsler of the 7500 block of John Pickett Road was driving his 1985 Kawasaki motorcycle east on John Pickett at 11:50 a.m. Sunday when he collided with the 1992 Toyota pickup, which was being driven west by William Frederick Dubbert Jr. of the 7300 block of John Pickett Road.

Mr. Kinsler was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Dubbert, 57, was not seriously injured in the accident.

Fire

Berrett: Winfield, Sykesville and Lisbon of Howard County responded to a shed fire in the 700 block of Streaker Road at 2:07 a.m. Sunday. Units were out for 90 minutes. Winfield also responded to the location twice on Sunday to extinguish smoldering remains, once at 11:26 a.m. for 49 minutes and again at 5:11 p.m. for about 70 minutes.

Mount Airy: Mount Airy and Lisbon of Howard County responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding in the 400 block of North Main Street at 7:31 p.m. Friday. Units were out for nine minutes.
