A woman was robbed by an armed man when she stopped her car at a drive-through mail box at an Ellicott City post office on Friday, Howard County police said.

The victim, a 28-year-old Ellicott City woman, was not injured, police said.

Police said the woman had stopped at the box in the 3300 block of Ellicott Center Drive when a man approached her vehicle and demanded money. He fled after she turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20 to 25, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 150 pounds. He wore a red plaid flannel shirt and a black T-shirt, police said.
