Will Microsoft's Allen make bid for Seahawks?

February 24, 1996|By SPORTSTICKER

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen is looking into buying the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported yesterday that King County officials in Washington have confirmed that Allen, who reportedly has assets over $6 billion, would be interested in buying the NFL team and keeping it in Seattle.

Allen, listed by Forbes as the fourth wealthiest American, owns the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers. Seahawks owner Ken Behring wants to move the club to Los Angeles next season but Washington officials plan lawsuits to stop him.
