His projected role for the Orioles: Huson is competing with Bill Ripken and Manny Alexander for a couple of utility roles available the infield.

Where he's been this off-season: At his home in Bedford, Texas.

What he's been doing: "Besides working out? Well, I played with my kids. My boy is into street hockey, so I always had to be the goalie. I would let most of his shots go in. I watched my daughter doing gymnastics."

Who he thinks is the Orioles' best acquisition of the off-season: "All of them. It would be hard to pick one over the others."

His own expectations: "Make the team. Win the World Series." Huson was asked if that was the first time he could talk about the World Series with conviction. "And truly mean it, truly feel like it could happen? Yeah."

Another AL team he thinks has helped itself: "I don't know if it helps them defensively at first base, but offensively, adding Julio Franco helps [the Indians]. You throw him into that lineup. . . ."

An Oriole to watch: "Chris Hoiles. You see some of the numbers he's put up in the past, and it would be fun to see him put up those numbers again."
