Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Southwestern District

Shooting: A 41-year-old man was in serious but stable condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot several times Wednesday by two men inside a mattress store at the Westside Shopping Center, in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. Minutes after the victim entered Mattress & More, the gunmen came in and shot him in the chest and stomach. Several bullets pierced a wall of the mattress store and entered a pet store, missing several customers but shattering fish tanks. No arrests have been made.

Shooting: An employee of Wells Lounge in the 1300 block of Bloomingdale Road shot a man who threatened to hit him with a hammer Wednesday. The man, who was shot in the neck, was in serious condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The man had been ordered out of the bar and returned armed with the hammer. Charges against the employee were pending.

Northeastern District

Robbery: A man was in the 3500 block of Brehms Lane Wednesday when another man robbed him of a pager valued at nearly $50.

Northern District

A battery pack for an electric drill, valued at nearly $300, was stolen Wednesday from Stage Coach Video in the 3700 block of Falls Road.
