A Severn man was kidnapped yesterday by two armed men who stole his car and pistol-whipped him, county police said.

Sharn R. Chapman, 19, of the 1700 block of Village Square Court told police he was parked in the 200 block of Red Clay Road in Maryland City just after midnight when two men, both armed with handguns and wearing knit caps over their faces, approached the car and forced him into the passenger seat.

The men drove around North County for about two hours, threatening to kill him at least once and hitting him in the head with their guns several times, police said.

They then returned him to Red Clay Road, forced him out of the car and drove off toward Route 198, police said. Officers searched the area for the car, but did not find it, police said.
