PTA meeting to summarize MSPP report

The Mechanicsville Elementary School PTA will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the school.

Ed Davis, director of pupil services, and Pete Zerhusen, the school psychologist, will speak on "Cornucopia Kids," a problem that can arise when children have too many possessions and not enough appreciation for the quality of life.

L They will offer tips on avoiding the problem in your family.

Cynthia Eckenrode, Mechanicsville principal, will give a brief summary of the MSPP Report Card released in December.

Fire

Eldersburg: Sykesville, Gamber and Liberty Road of Baltimore County investigated a potential fire on Wendy Road at 12:03 p.m. Monday. Units were out for 25 minutes.

Eldersburg: Sykesville, Gamber and Liberty Road of Baltimore County responded to a chimney fire on Kinsman Courage Court at 1:40 p.m. Sunday. Units were out for 40 minutes.

Eldersburg: Sykesville, Gamber and Liberty Road of Baltimore County responded to a chimney fire in the 6400 block of Oak Hill Court at 11:16 p.m. Friday. Units were out for 45 minutes.

Eldersburg: Sykesville, Gamber and Liberty Road of Baltimore County responded to a chimney fire in the 1600 block of Brimfield Court at 6:21 p.m. Friday. Units were out for 50 minutes.

Gamber: Gamber, Reese and Sykesville responded to a chimney fire in the 1200 block of Canterbury Drive at 2:52 p.m. Saturday. Units were out for 40 minutes.

Lisbon: Sykesville assisted Howard County at a chimney fire in the 2300 block of Duvall Road at 5:07 p.m. Sunday. Units were out for nine minutes.

Sykesville: Sykesville responded to a carbon monoxide detector sounding in the 7300 block of Carl Drive at 1:36 p.m. yesterday. Units were out for 24 minutes.
