Teen attends youth leaders forum

Terri Wenzing, a senior at Francis Scott Key High School, has been chosen to attend the National Young Leaders Conference, which began yesterday, through Sunday in Washington.

The conference is a leadership development program for high school students who have demonstrated leadership potential and scholastic merit.

The theme is "The Leaders of Tomorrow Meeting the Leaders of Today."

Students will interact with key leaders and news-makers from the three branches of government, the media and diplomatic corps.

Students will have a panel discussion with prominent journalists at the National Press Club, visit foreign embassies and receive policy briefings from senior government officials.

Terri also will meet with her local senator and representative or a member of their staff to discuss issues facing the community and nation.

Fire

New Windsor: New Windsor, Union Bridge and Westminster responded to a chimney fire on Old New Windsor Road at 2:40 p.m. Monday. Units were out for 15 minutes.
