Hopkins works overtime to top Western Md. State women

Julie Anderson scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lift Johns Hopkins to an 81-80 overtime victory over host Western Maryland in a Centennial Conference game last night.

Angie Arnold added 23 points and seven assists for the Blue Jays (16-7, 11-2).

Western Maryland (17-6, 10-4) was paced by Katie Haley's 29 points and 10 rebounds. Kathi Snyder contributed 20 points for the Green Terror, which committed 20 turnovers.

* Colgate 55, Navy 52: Senior guard Jen Lachance scored five of Colgate's seven points in overtime to help the Red Raiders (9-14, 4-5) down visiting Navy (16-8, 4-6) in a Patriot League game. Joanne Groth scored 25 for the Mids.

* North Carolina A&T 56, Morgan State 42: Latania McIntyre scored 13 points to lead host North Carolina A&T (12-8, 6-5) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game. Kaira Warfield scored 16 to lead Morgan (2-17, 1-11).

* Marymount 55, Goucher 53: Corinne Carson scored 20, including the game-winning free throws with five seconds remaining, to rally five-time defending Capital Athletic Conference champion Marymount (21-2, 13-0) past host Goucher (16-7, 11-2).

* Frostburg State 50, Washington & Jefferson 36: Kara Reed and Yvonne Bashaw each scored 15 points to lead the Bobcats (14-7) over Washington & Jefferson (12-8). Bashaw also had 11 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and was 7-for-7 from the foul line.
