Lucas carries Navy past Colgate, 60-57

Eddie Lucas scored 14 consecutive points for Navy in the second half to lead the Midshipmen to a 60-57 victory over Colgate last night in the Patriot League.

Lucas, who led all scorers with 18 points, hit two three-pointers and eight straight free throws to keep Navy (12-11, 7-3) in the game, then made two free throws with 2:27 left to tie the game at 54.

Seth Schuknecht's free throw gave Navy the lead for good, 55-54. Navy held a 58-54 lead with 19 seconds left, but Mike Roberts hit a long three-pointer to put Colgate within 58-57 with 11 seconds left.

However, Schuknecht hit two free throws with nine seconds left to clinch the victory.

Colgate (10-14, 6-3) was led by Adonal Foyle's 17 points.
