Rhodes' hearing postponed to Monday

The arbitration hearing for Orioles left-hander Arthur Rhodes has been postponed from tomorrow to Monday in New York.

Rhodes is asking for a 1996 salary of $675,000, the Orioles are offering $300,000. General manager Pat Gillick said he doesn't expect a settlement before the hearing, and there has been almost no dialogue between the team and Rhodes' agent to that end.

Rhodes, coming off shoulder surgery, is expected to report to the Orioles' spring training camp tomorrow, but club officials don't think he'll be ready to pitch until well after Opening Day.
