It's the night of the sweeps-week guest stars, as Shelley Long visits "Frasier," George Hamilton shows up "The John Larroquette Show," and the space shuttle astronauts drop in on "Home Improvement." Such riches

*"Married With Children" (6:30 p.m.-7 p.m., WBFF, Channel 45) -- Vanna White offers $1 million for a night with Al. Let's hope Al never saw "Goddess of Love."

*"Cliffhanger" (8 p.m.-10 p.m., WBFF, Channel 45) -- Sylvester Stallone is such a bad actor it almost hurts, but at least here the photography is distracting. This is a pretty good action flick that includes Janine Turner and Papa Walton (Ralph Waite) among the cast. Fox.

*"Home Improvement" (9 p.m.-9:30 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Astronauts from the space shuttle Columbia (the real ones) show up on "Tool Time" to thank Tim for the tools he made for them. Includes footage shot on board the shuttle specifically for this episode. ABC.

* "Frasier" (9 p.m.-9:30 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- Two words are guaranteed to strike fear into Frasier Crane's heart: Diane Chambers. So guess who shows up? Shelley Long, whose post-"Cheers" career has been, shall we say, lousy, gets a chance to remind people she's still alive. NBC.

* "The John Larroquette Show" (9:30 p.m.-10 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- George Hamilton, the man with the World's Greatest Tan, plays a man of indeterminate age who sponsors a reunion of all those plastic surgeons who have worked on him over the years. One of them brings along a date some 20 years younger than she -- John Hemingway (Larroquette). NBC.

Cable

* "The Andy Griffith Show" (9:35 a.m.-10:05 a.m., TBS) -- Opie publishes his own newspaper, chock-full of Mayberry's darkest secrets. The townsfolk are not amused. Never underestimate the power of the press.

* "Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show" (8 p.m.-11 p.m., repeats 9 a.m.-noon tomorrow, USA) -- The dog days arrive early this year. Don't you wish summer would, too?
