Musick's 43 power Sea Gulls in 2 OTs State men

Casey Musick scored 43 points, including 19 in the two overtimes, to lead visiting Salisbury State to a 122-114 triumph over Mary Washington in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

The Sea Gulls (14-8, 10-2) went on a 10-2 run to start the second overtime, with Musick scoring the first eight, including all six of his free throws.

Salisbury State overcame a 17-point deficit at 64-47, tying the game at 91 with 35 seconds left on a three-pointer by Musick. The Eagles (5-16, 4-8) were paced by Dave Mahoney, who had 16 of his career-high 24 points in the first four minutes of the second half.

* Gettysburg 97, Western Maryland 65: Junior Paul Howard (Loyola) scored 20 points to lead five Gettysburg players in double figures in a Centennial Conference win over Western Maryland.

Howard connected on five of seven shots from beyond the three-point arc, and seven of 11 overall. Steve Gordon added 17 points for the Bullets, who also received 14 from Phil Tonkins (Mount Hebron), 13 from Dave Sowers and 10 from Rich Rothenberg.

Gettysburg (16-6, 8-3) clinched a conference playoff berth with the victory, its third in a row.

Senior forward Jeff Daniels had a season-high 20 points to top Western Maryland (4-18, 2-9). Daeviid St. Rose (Patapsco) scored 13 for the Green Terror, which dropped its sixth straight game.
