Health inspectors close 3 restaurants for emergencies

County health inspectors visited 189 restaurants and food-handling establishments between Jan. 16 and Jan. 31 to evaluate them on nine health and safety standards.

Three establishments were closed for emergency reasons:

* Roy Rogers, 1300 block of Dorsey Road, Hanover. Closed Jan. 18 because of fire. Reopened the same day.

* Red Lobster, 100 block of Jennifer Road, Annapolis. Closed Jan. 23 because of fire. Reopened same day.

* Latela's, 2700 block of Annapolis Road, Jessup. Closed on Jan. 26 after a sewage overflow. Reopened same day.

Twenty-seven establishments were cited for not storing food at the proper temperature:

* Maria's Restaurant, 12 Market Space, Annapolis.

* BJ's Wholesale Club, 8100 block of Ritchie Highway, Pasadena.

* Bill Bateman's, 1000 block of Brandon Shores Road, Pasadena.

* Bob Davidson and Son, 800 block of Ritchie Highway, Severna Park.

* Eastern Petroleum Co. Oasis, 7700 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Glen Burnie.

* Dunkin' Donuts of Crofton, Route 3, Crofton.

* 7-Eleven, 700 block of Greenway, Glen Burnie.

* High's No. 39, 2100 block of Generals Highway, Annapolis.

* McDonald's at Wal-Mart, 3500 block of Russett Green, Laurel.

* Mick's, Annapolis Mall, Annapolis.

* Pizza Hut, East Park Shopping Center, Glen Burnie.

* Daikin, 300 block of Hospital Drive, Glen Burnie.

L * Friendly Ice Cream, 1600 block of Crofton Centre, Crofton.

* Hunan Inn, 6700 block of Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.

L * RJ's Sub Shop, 7500 block of Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.

* Dough Roller, 1200 block of Crain Highway South, Crofton.

* Income Tax, Carol Street and Rowe Boulevard, Annapolis.

* McDonald's, 3000 block of Solomon's Island Road, Edgewater.

* Sunset Restaurant, 600 block of Greenway, Glen Burnie.

* Governor Calvert House, 58 State Circle, Annapolis.

* Hibachi-San, Annapolis Mall, Annapolis.

* Chick and Ruth's Delly, 100 block of Main St., Annapolis.

* Giant Food, 1100 block Crain Highway North, Crofton.

* TGI Friday's, 2500 block of Solomon's Island Road, Annapolis.

Three establishments were cited for multiple violations:

* Giant Food, 2300 block of Forest Drive, Annapolis. Food not held at proper temperature. Food adulterated or spoiled.

* Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill, 2100 block of Generals Highway, Annapolis. Food not properly cooled. Food not held at proper temperature. Reinspection required.

* Casa Grande, 100 block of Jennifer Road, Annapolis. Food not properly cooled. Food not held at proper temperature.
