25 years ago (week of Feb. 7-13, 1971):

The possibility of extending Route 175 to Route 29 was discussed this week, as well as the possible construction of an interchange at Owen Brown Road and Route 29. The construction is deemed necessary because of increased traffic in the area.

50 years ago (week of Feb. 3-9, 1946):

It was announced that the total proceeds from this year's March of Dimes campaign in Howard County was $2,062.69, up from $1,160.90 the previous year.
