February 11, 1996

Entries are being accepted for Artscape '96, Baltimore's visual-arts exhibition. Scheduled for July 19-21, the annual event will feature eight art exhibitions, a fine-arts marketplace, a performance-arts series, and a film and video series.

Selected artwork will be displayed in Baltimore's Cultural Center through Aug. 11.

Most Artscape categories are open to artists living in Maryland and the Washington metropolitan area. However, "Celebrating Rhinehart," "On the Street -- Off the Street" and "300 Signs" have no geographic limitation.

"Celebrating Rhinehart" will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Rhinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute, College of Art. "On the Street -- Off the Street" is a first-time collaboration between Artscape and Maryland Art Place, and "300 Signs" will feature 300 artist-made signs.

Deadline for submission is March 1 for visual-arts exhibitions and performance art; March 22, film and video; and March 29, fine- arts marketplace.

The juried exhibition will include works in all media in a nonthematic format. Call (410) 396-4575, TDD accessible.
