Travel packages and airline tickets will be among the more than 600 prizes offered at the annual WBAL Radio/Baltimore Sun auction to benefit Center Stage.

"Bidders will be able to choose from a number of exotic locales included in a master list of all auction items which will be published on auction day in The Sun. Each hour of our 16-hour auction will provide chances to bid on dream vacations -- on the continent of your choice," said Sydney Wilner, the auction coordinator.

Vacations are available, through a variety of airlines, to such warm destinations as Montego Bay, Puerto Vallarta and the Bahamas. Skiers will have a variety of vacations to choose from, including packages to Wintergreen Resort in West Virginia and Snowbird Resort in Utah. International travelers can be sure to find many exotic destinations such as Jamaica, Tobago and Aruba.

Those wanting to stay closer to home can bid on hotel and bed-and-breakfast packages on the East Coast and vacations all over North America.

The auction will be held from 8 a.m. until midnight Feb. 25 on WBAL, 1090 AM.

"The auction started 19 years ago, when Center Stage needed money for the operating fund -- the day-to-day needs of the theater, like maintenance, salaries and costumes. It's still the largest and most important fund-raiser for Center Stage," said Ms. Wilner.
