Baltimore man is charged with shoplifting jeans

February 09, 1996

Police arrested a Baltimore man Tuesday and charged him with stealing merchandise from Macy's at Marley Station, county police said.

Steve Sumner, a security guard at Macy's, told police he saw a man walk into the store fitting room with a pair of $45 Calvin Klein jeans shortly before 5 p.m. When he walked out, he was not carrying the jeans and they were not in the room, police said.

The man left the store and was detained by Mr. Sumner. The man was wearing the jeans under his trousers, police said.

Anthony Joseph Sturgill, 18, of the 3900 block of Inner Circle was charged with theft.
