Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Central District

Bank robbery/arrest: A 27-year-old woman was detained by bank security officer immediately after the NationsBank in the first block of E. North Ave. was robbed Wednesday. A woman entered the bank about 3 p.m. and gave a teller a note demanding money. She was given cash and left the bank. Security officer Rudy Shears, 42, stopped a suspect, recovered the stolen money and turned the suspect over to police. She faces federal bank robbery charges.

Robbery try: A man forced his way into a home in the 1400 block of Argyle Ave. and ransacked several rooms looking for money Wednesday. When the 70-year-old resident told the intruder she had no money, he left.

Robbery: A 21-year-old American University student was in the 400 block of N. Howard St. on Wednesday when a gunman robbed him of a camera, wallet, cash and credit cards, all valued at $500.

Northeastern District

Robbery: A man was in the 1200 block of Argonne Drive on Wednesday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of cash and property, all valued at more than $100.

Theft: A man stole 12 cans of tuna, all valued at more than $20, from the Royal Farm store in the 5200 block of Harford Road Wednesday.

Northern District

Robbery: A resident of the 500 block of Harwood Ave. was walking near her home Wednesday when a gunman robbed her of a leather coat, jewelry and a high school ring, all valued at more than $400. Before he fled, the gunman pushed the victim to the ground and threatened to shoot her if she cried out.

Burglary: A wedding ring valued at $800 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 4100 block of Falls Road.

Robbery: A motorist picked up a man in the 5300 block of York Road on Wednesday and drove him to the 400 block of Lothian Road, where the passenger pulled a handgun and robbed the motorist of $25 and his watch, valued at $150.

Robbery: A gunman robbed a man of cash and property, all valued at $55, in the first block of W. 23rd St. on Wednesday.

Northwestern District

Stolen car: A maroon 1986 Toyota Corolla with tags SPD 701 was stolen Wednesday in the 5400 block of Reisterstown Road.

Stolen car: A 4-door gray 1994 Nissan Maxima with tags 712 AZB was stolen Wednesday in the 3400 block of Park Heights Ave.

Western District

Robbery: A man with a knife robbed a resident of the 2600 block of Lauretta Ave. of $20 in the 1300 block of N. Calhoun St. on Wednesday.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder, radio, a video game and compact discs, all valued at more than $1,200, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 2000 block of Rayner Ave.

Cockeysville Precinct

Officer assaulted: Officer William Ruth was supervising youth athletic activities in the Powell Center at the Cockeysville Middle School in the 10400 block of Greenside Drive on Wednesday night when he noticed an adult playing basketball and asked the man to leave. Outside, Officer Ruth, who was wearing a modified police uniform with a police logo on the shirt, was writing the man's license plate number when the man struck him in the hands. After a brief struggle, the officer subdued the man. David Wagner, 30, of the first block Windy Cliff Place in Cockeysville was charged with assaulting a police officer and released on his own recognizance.

Burglary: Police were seeking two men, one known by the victim, who entered an apartment in the 600 block of Cranbrook Road on Wednesday and stole a pager.

White Marsh Precinct

Theft from auto: A compact disc player and several discs, all valued at more than $400, were stolen Wednesday from a 1987 Volkswagen Jetta parked in the 7000 block of Golden Ring Road.

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: Property valued at more than $900 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the first block of Walden Poplar Court.

Robbery: A Randallstown man was at Liberty and Old Court roads Wednesday after shopping at the nearby Savoy Plaza Shopping Center when five youths demanded his money. When the man told them he had none, the youths knocked him to the ground and robbed him of $20 and a video game cartridge.

Parkville Precinct

Robbery: A gunman robbed J's Florist in the 8800 block of Waltham Woods Road of an undisclosed sum of cash Wednesday. Before leaving, the man ordered store employees onto the floor then robbed them of their jewelry.

Robbery: Police were seeking a gunman who robbed the Amoco station in the 9300 block of Harford Road of more than $100 Wednesday.

Towson Precinct

Carjacking: A Timonium resident was in the 500 block of Castle Drive on Wednesday when two youths, one with what turned out to be a pellet gun, forced him from his 1989 Mazda 323 with tags BHV 790 and drove off. The gun was recovered near the scene.
