Westminster man arrested on crack cocaine charge

Acting on a tip from the Westminster Police Department, Baltimore County police officers arrested a Westminster man about 11 a.m. yesterday at a Caraway Road apartment complex in Reisterstown on charges stemming from crack cocaine sales to a Westminster undercover officer in August.

Calvin Lamont Warfield, 23, of the 100 block of S. Court St. was charged on two counts of cocaine distribution.

He was being held yesterday at the Carroll County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond for each count, police said.

Westminster man arrested in armed robbery case

A Westminster resident, one of three men accused in a Jan. 11 armed robbery, was arrested about noon Tuesday after detectives found him at a Route 140 motel.

Michael Patrick Holland, 24, of the 100 block of E. Green St. was being held yesterday without bail at the Carroll County Detention Center.

He was charged with four counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, four counts of conspiracy to assault with intent to rob, two counts each of armed robbery and assault and battery, and two related weapons counts.

Earlier, police arrested Keith Goins on robbery and assault charges stemming from the robbery of two men on Madison Street near East Green Street, who were accosted by three men, including one with a gun.

Investigators said they are looking for a third man.

Police

Westminster: A Sykesville resident told police that someone took the rear registration plate from his car while it was parked on East Main Street on Monday. The loss was estimated at $10.

Westminster: A representative of the former Farmer's Supply building on Liberty Street told police that someone tried to break into the vacant building Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Nothing was stolen, but damage to the building was estimated at $300.

Westminster: A resident of Johahn Drive told police that someone took personal items from his vehicle parked near his home Monday evening or Tuesday morning. The loss was estimated at $1,185.

Fire

Westminster: Westminster firefighters responded to a transformer fire at 6:51 a.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Lakes Court. Units were out 16 minutes.

Westminster: Westminster and Reese units responded to a hazardous materials alarm for a natural gas leak at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of E. Main St. Units were out 22 minutes.

Westminster: Westminster firefighters responded for an emergency water detail at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Kingsbury Way. Units were out 45 minutes.

Westminster: Westminster units responded to a fire alarm at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Stone Chapel Road. Units were out 10 minutes.

Westminster: Units from Westminster, Reese, Pleasant Valley and Manchester responded to a building fire at 3:15 a.m. yesterday in the 400 block of Mall Ring Road.
