Lloyd scores 21 in Southwestern win

Senior guard Donta Lloyd's 21 points led three Sabers in double figures as No. 2 and host Southwestern defeated Edmondson, 77-61, yesterday.

Reginald Johnson finished with 19 points for the Sabers, who led 39-26 at the half.

* Calvert Hall 74, Goretti 64: Juan Dixon scored 31 points to lead No. 6 Calvert Hall past host St. Maria Goretti in a Catholic League game. Patrick Ngongba added 17 points for the Cardinals, who outscored Goretti, 27-18, from the foul line.

* Poly 76, Forest Park 72, OT -- Owen States and John McLean scored 31 and 30 points, respectively, to lead the Engineers (10-3) to their fifth straight win. States added five rebounds, two blocks and three steals while McLean contributed six rebounds two assists, one block and three steals.

* Carver 78, City 68: Nathaniel Wingo scored a team-high 32 points to lead the visiting Bears (2-12) past the Knights. Wingo also had six rebounds.


* Poly 78, Forest Park 26 -- Lindsey Williemain's 14 points and 12 rebounds enabled the Engineers to coast past Forest Park. Dawn Hall added 13 points and five rebounds for Poly.
