Von Paris steps aside at moving company

February 03, 1996

E. B. "Lee" von Paris has retired as president of Von Paris Enterprises Inc. and its main subsidiary, B. von Paris & Sons Inc., a Timonium-based moving and storage company. He was replaced by Arthur G. Feeney, the company's executive vice president.

Mr. von Paris was the last member of his generation -- which included his eight brothers and sisters -- who was active in day-to-day operations. The company was founded by his grandfather, Eligius von Paris, in 1892, and expanded by his father, Bonaventure von Paris Sr.

Lee von Paris worked in the firm for 40 years. He will continue to work a reduced schedule on special projects and has been named chairman of the parent company.

William B. Wachter, treasurer of Von Paris Enterprises and its operating subsidiaries, has taken the additional title of executive vice president. John F. von Paris was appointed a vice president of B. von Paris & Sons.

The company operates in several Maryland cities and in Virginia.

Recently, the company bought Alberti Moving & Storage in Gaithersburg. All of its moving operations are agents for North American Van Lines.
