Youth group to hold workshop at Arena

The Maryland State Youth Soccer Association will hold a workshop at Baltimore Arena on Feb. 10. Featured clinicians will include former U.S. World Cup and Maryland player Desmond Armstrong, Georgetown coach Keith Tabatznik, George Washington women's coach Shannon Higgins-Chirovski and MSYSA director of coaching Graham Ramsey.

The keynote speaker of the workshop will be former Canadian national team coach Tony Waiters, who is recognized worldwide for his work in implementing small-sided soccer programs for children.

In addition to the coaching demonstrations on the arena floor, there will be classroom sessions dealing with tournament organization, fund-raising, insurance, travel, sports medicine and sports psychology.

The MSYSA will hold its awards banquet at the Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore Hotel at the end of the day. For information, call the MSYSA at (410) 987-6017.
