February 02, 1996

County police arrested two 17-year-olds from Annapolis yesterday on charges of breaking into four cars that were parked in the 600 block of Juniper Hills Court in Arnold.

They were charged as juveniles with auto larceny, destruction of property and theft and released to their parents.

A resident of Juniper Hills Court called police shortly before 1 a.m. to report that two youths were walking around the parking lot looking into cars. They also were walking back and forth from the cars to a minivan parked on the lot, police said.

When police arrived, they saw two youths in a blue minivan. Officers searched them and found screwdrivers and other prying tools on them, police said. They also found that four cars in the parking lot had been broken into and found property from those cars inside the van, police said.

Police learned later that the van had been stolen in Annapolis.
