Delegate is named to governor's panel on disabilities

February 02, 1996

State Del. John R. Leopold has been named to the Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities by Gov. Parris N. Glendening.

The Pasadena Republican will study issues affecting people with disabilities, their employment and transportation. He will serve on the commission until Jan. 1, 1999.

"With shrinking resources -- both federal and state -- it requires more creative thinking, more creative solutions, and a partnership with the private sector," Mr. Leopold said. "That's one of the challenges of this work."

Mr. Leopold is a former member of the National Council on Disability and is chairman of the board of directors of the Anne Arundel County Committee for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities.
