Margaret Missouri Tucker, 85, teacher, homemaker

Margaret Missouri Tucker, a teacher and homemaker, died of complications of a stroke Saturday at Carroll County General Hospital. She was 85.

The former Margaret Myers, a native of Carroll County, graduated with a teaching degree from Western Maryland College in 1932. She moved to Baltimore and began teaching English and history in the Baltimore County school system, ending her career in the early 1940s to raise a family.

In 1980, she and her husband, Albert Tucker, were among the first residents of Carroll Lutheran Village, a retirement community in Westminster.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church, 21 Carroll St. in Westminster.

Mr. Tucker died in 1983. She is survived by three daughters, Margaret L. Lotz of Eldersburg, Sarah Ellen Smith of Finksburg and Alicia B. Ruppersberger of Towson; a stepson, William M. Tucker of Lutherville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandsons.

James Zimmerman Jr., 77, partner in automotive firm

James B. Zimmerman Jr., a lifelong resident of Mount Washington, died Friday at Sinai Hospital of respiratory failure. He was 77.

After graduating from City College in 1937, he worked for Glenn L. Martin Co. in Middle River and was director of procurement during World War II.

In the mid-1950s, he formed a partnership with the late Frank Cuccia, and for the next 25 years they ran K and G Sales Co., an automotive and industrial supplies company.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. John's Episcopal Church, South Road and Kelly Avenue in Mount Washington.

He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Ritter; a son, Donald Zimmerman of Towson; two daughters, Jane Gunning of Towson and Judith Dewey of Alexandria, Va.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
