2 hold winning tickets for $19 million jackpot

January 22, 1996

Two people have the winning tickets to the third-richest Maryland Lottery jackpot -- $19 million, lottery officials said yesterday.

Lottery spokesman Seth J. Katzen said he did not know the names of the winners, who would split almost the entire jackpot. Both played the "Quik Pik" game. One bought a ticket in a Baltimore-area liquor store, the other at a Prince George's County convenience store.

The two largest jackpots, in 1991 and 1993, were both $21 million, Mr. Katzen said.
