Meetings set to discuss school boundaries

January 18, 1996

School boundaries in South Carroll will change with the opening of Oklahoma Road Middle School in the fall, and the school board has scheduled a series of meetings to hear public opinion on the proposed changes.

The four options the board is considering affect Sykesville Middle and Westminster West Middle schools. Two of the four options also affect Mount Airy Middle School.

All four options propose moving students from the Presidential Park area of West Middle.

The options will be presented to the public Monday at Mount Airy Middle School and Jan. 25 at Liberty High School. Both meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.

School administrators will recommend one of the four options at the Feb. 14 board meeting, and the board will schedule a meeting in mid-March to hear final public comments. The board could vote as early as that evening.
