Police charge woman with stealing video

A Baltimore woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with stealing a movie video valued at $16 from a Kmart store, county police said.

A security officer for the store in the 8000 block of Jumpers Hole Road told police the woman walked into the store shortly after 4:30 p.m., took "The Indian in the Cupboard" video from a display, put it in her coat and left the store without paying, police said.

The security officer held the woman for police. Patricia Micheala Pilger, 25, of the 2800 block of Maisel St., was charged with theft.

Woman, 65, robbed of purse in restaurant parking lot

A 65-year-old Millersville woman was assaulted and robbed of her purse as she walked across the parking lot of a Friendly's restaurant in the 4100 block of Mountain Road about 11 p.m. Tuesday, county police said.

The woman told police a man wearing blue jeans and a hooded sweat shirt punched her in the face and demanded her purse. The man also knocked down two women who tried to help the victim, police said.

After taking the purse, the man ran to a waiting pickup truck. The victim was treated for minor injuries at North Arundel Hospital and released, police said.

Pasadena: Someone smashed the plate glass window in the front door of Pasadena Audio Connection in the 8000 block of Ritchie Highway Sunday and stole audio equipment worth nearly $1,000.
