A man charged in the Dec. 15 slaying and robbery of a Harford County cab driver in Northwest Baltimore was arrested yesterday and is being held without bail, city police said.

Rendell Curtis Jones, 26, of the 4400 block of Bonner Road was arrested about 1 p.m. in the 400 block of Ilchester Ave. in North Baltimore, police said.

Mr. Jones had been charged in a warrant with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Christopher A. Leavitt, 26, a driver for Edgewood Taxi, whose body was found in his cab in the 3900 block of Fairfax Road.

About an hour before he was slain, Mr. Leavitt had gone to a convenience store in Edgewood and picked up a fare who asked to be taken to Baltimore, police said.
