Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Northern District

Shooting: A 19-year-old resident of the 300 block of E. 28th St. was in the 2700 block of Loch Raven Blvd. yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, attempted to rob him. When the victim ran, the gunman shot him in the leg. The victim was in good condition yesterday at Union Memorial Hospital.

Burglary: Someone entered Video Americain in the 3100 block of St. Paul St. through a rear door yesterday and stole cash and several videotapes, all of unknown value.

Burglary: Police were seeking a man with long black hair who entered a house in the 3100 block of Chestnut Ave. on Saturday and stole a 12-gauge shotgun, wedding rings, an engagement ring and other jewelry, all valued at more than $2,300.

Southern District

Burglary: A beeper, leather coat, shirt and Independence card, all valued at more than $300, were stolen yesterday from a house in the first block of S. Monroe St.

Theft/arrest: Police arrested a man who attempted to leave the Stop, Shop and Save store in the 1900 block of W. Pratt St. on Saturday without paying for more than $20 worth of meat.

Central District

Shooting: A woman was in stable condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after she was shot in the arm with a shotgun. Police said the shooting occurred as she and relatives tried to prevent her father-in-law from firing at a man who was tampering with his car Saturday in the 1400 block of Argyle Ave. After the shooting, a warrant was issued charging the father-in-law with assault by shooting and related offenses.

Northeastern District

Shooting: A 28-year-old man was driving his Isuzu in the 4900 block of Loch Raven Blvd. yesterday when someone fired several shots at the vehicle, hitting the man in the head. He was found slumped behind the steering wheel by police responding to a report of shots fired. The victim was in critical condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Stolen truck: A 1987 Toyota pickup truck with tags 402665M was stolen Saturday in the 4200 block of Sheldon Ave.

Northwestern District

Robbery: A 33-year-old resident of the 3300 block of Ingleside Ave. was in the 3800 block of W. Belvedere Ave. when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $10 Saturday.

White Marsh Precinct

Stolen vehicle: A red 1993 Jeep Cherokee with tags 800758M was stolen yesterday in the 9600 block of Baron Place.

Theft from vehicle: Someone entered a 1988 Dodge truck parked in the 8300 block of Pulaski Highway yesterday and stole $600.

Robbery: A gunman robbed the Hair Cuttery in the 7900 block of Honeygo Blvd. of more than $100 Saturday and fled in a red Dodge Colt driven by a second person.

North Point Precinct

Robbery: A 15-year-old resident of the first block of Del Rio Road was at Wallford Drive Avenue and West Collingham Drive on Saturday when four older youths robbed him of a beeper and other property, all valued at $100.

Theft: A woman attempted to leave the Ames department store at Eastpoint Mall in the 7800 block of Eastern Blvd. without paying for more than $900 worth of merchandise Saturday. After providing police with identification, the woman was released pending action by the store. The property was recovered.

Parkville Precinct

Assault/arrest: A pregnant employee of Lorenzo's, a bar in the 8100 block of Belair Road, was struck in the stomach with a pool cue when she tried to break up a fight between two men yesterday. The force of the blow, police said, broke the cue stick in three pieces. It was not immediately known whether the woman or fetus was injured. Charged with assault with intent to kill the woman and assaulting at least one other patron was William J. Smith, no age given, of the 4400 block of Ridge Road. Mr. Smith broke his hand, was treated at Franklin Square Hospital and released into police custody. He was being held at the White Marsh Precinct.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: A man was at Yakona and Oakleigh roads Saturday night when a gunman got out of a gray car, robbed him of $50 and drove off.

Garrison Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered Mrs. Posey's Original Cheesecake in the 4300 block of Windsor Mill Road yesterday and stole $25 from a cash register.

Wilkens Precinct

Stolen vehicle: A 1995 Dodge Caravan with tags ALO552 was stolen Saturday in the 4400 block of Wilkens Ave.
