Goldina and Loumbrozo will pair up on two pianos Saturday for Linthicum concert

PIANISTS Arianna Goldina and Remy Loumbrozo will entertain at the inaugural concert of the Performing Arts Association of Linthicum 1996 season.

The concert is at 8 p.m., Saturday in the North County High School auditorium.

Since their New York debut in 1982, the piano team has regularly appeared in major music venues in North America and Europe. They have won top prizes at five international dual-piano competitions, including first prize at the Murray Dranoff Two-Piano Competition in Miami and first prize at the seventh Valentino Bucchi Duo-Piano Competition of 20th Century Music in Rome.

Goldina and Loumbrozo met at the Juilliard School while completing their musical education. They are married and live in New York City.

People can subscribe to the PAAL season for $20.

The remain concerts on the schedule are:

* Feb. 24: The Allnations Dance Company;

* March 9: Performers 3;

* March 16: The U.S. Naval Academy Wind Ensemble (free concert);

* April 27: The Sounds of New Orleans.

Parking for concerts is free and well-lighted, and the concerts are accessible to the handicapped and the hearing-impaired.

The Ferndale-Linthicum Area Community Council has rescheduled its meeting for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Senior Center on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard.

Preparations for Ferndale Day, to be held in May, will be discussed. Volunteers are needed to help work on this annual event and are encouraged to attend.

The St. Philip Neri Home/School Association will have a meeting at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday in the school hall.

This will be a general meeting to discuss school activities and policy and update fund-raising efforts, including the current candy drive.

Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 28 to Feb. 2, and March Home/School Board elections will be discussed.

The used uniform exchange will be open at 7 p.m.

The North Glen Athletic Association is having baseball and softball registration session at two locations for children 5 and older.

Parents can register at North Glen Elementary School, 615 Furnace Branch Road, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Jan. 27 and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and Jan. 28.

Registration will also take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at North Glen Improvement Association Hall on Wellham Avenue, off Furnace Branch Road, tomorrow and every Tuesday until the end of March.

The association asks parents to bring a photocopy of the child's birth certificate.

The cost is $35 for one child, $50 for two and $65 for three or more. There is a $5 discount per family for early sign-up in January. Anyone signing up after March 1 will be charged an extra $5 per child for late sign-up.

The Linthicum Community Clergy Association has been meeting regularly in an effort to improve ecumenical relations in our community.

At the 11 a.m. service Sunday, the Rev. Sharon Ford of Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church will preach at St. John Lutheran Church, and the Rev. William F. R. Gilroy from St. John will preach at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church.
