50 years ago (week of Jan. 6-12, 1946):

Charles E. Hogg, counsel to the Howard County Commissioners, addressed the Women's Club of Ellicott City on the subject of zoning. He summarized the purpose of zoning and explained what its advantages and disadvantages might be for Howard County.

Three new teachers were appointed to Clarksville High School, bringing the total number of faculty to eight.
