Mount stifles Rider, 78-56

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Mount St. Mary's got seven blocked shots from Gerben Van Dorpe in the first half and limited Rider to 18 points in the period en route to a 78-56 victory last night.

The Mountaineers (6-4, 2-0), dealt Rider (5-6, 0-2) its fifth home loss since joining the Northeast Conference in 1992-93.

The Mount led at halftime, 35-18. Riley Inge led Mount St. Mary's with 23 points.
