January 11, 1996|By Stephen Wigler

One of the Washington Opera's great successes in recent years was its production, designed by Roman Terlecky and Zack Brown, of Jules Massenet's "Werther," the composer's setting of Goethe novel, "The Sorrows of Young Werther." The Washington Opera brings this beautiful production back on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. to the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater for a run that extends until Feb. 11. The cast will include Michael Myers, Charlotte Hellekant, Nancy Allen Lundy and Thomas Paul; Cal Stewart Kellogg will conduct the Kennedy Center Orchestra.

Tickets are $52-$92. For further information, call the Washington Opera, (202) 416-7800 or 1-800-87-OPERA.
