Outlook: The game, originally scheduled for yesterday, has been rescheduled for today due to the snow. The Greyhounds have won two straight, including Thursday night's 80-78 double-overtime win against St. Joseph's. Senior G Teron Owens (Catonsville) has averaged nearly 20 points since moving into the starting lineup three games ago. Junior F Anthony Smith, a transfer from Duquesne, has scored 45 points in three games since becoming eligible. Winthrop's only win before Saturday's victory over UMBC had come against Montreat (N.C.) College. It is 1-6 away from home. The series is tied, 1-1. The teams haven't met since 1988-89, when Winthrop won by 10.

South Carolina State (6-4) at Coppin State (4-7)

Outlook: Coppin State will put its 34-game home winning streak, the longest in the nation, on the line against a team picked to finish first in the MEAC. The Eagles lead the series, 15-7, and have won the last six games. Coppin's last loss to South Carolina State was in February 1992, when the Bulldogs won by 10 points. Coppin coach Fang Mitchell is 13-7 against the Bulldogs. South Carolina State is 2-0 in the MEAC and returns all five starters from last season, including 6-foot-6 senior Derrick Patterson, the conference's pre-season Player of the Year. Coppin is coming off Saturday's 82-71 win over North Carolina A&T. Reggie Welch scored 31 points, as Coppin broke a five-game losing streak.
