Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Northern District

Arrests: During "Operation Season's Greetings," 28 people, including 21 women, were arrested between Dec. 9 and yesterday on charges of soliciting for prostitution or lewdness throughout areas of Hampden, Guilford, Waverly and Remington. The arrests came after complaints from residents. One woman charged with soliciting was wanted on a robbery warrant. A man was charged with possession of suspected cocaine after he solicited an undercover policewoman for sex.

Northeastern District

Robbery: A resident of the 4600 block of Chatford Ave. was in the 4300 block of Plainfield Ave. on Wednesday when a gunman robbed her of cash, other property and a black leather coat.

Robbery: A woman from the 3900 block of Southclare Road was near her home Wednesday when a gunman robbed her of her leather coat, purse and several pieces of jewelry, all valued at more than $3,700.

Robbery: Four men, one armed with a handgun, forced their way into a house in the 3100 block of Belair Road on Wednesday and robbed a woman of an unsigned money order for $370 and $150. The gunman struck the woman in the face with the weapon.

Northwestern District

Stolen car: A 1991 GMC U-Haul-It truck with Alabama tags XA40125 was stolen Wednesday in the 4100 block of Park Heights Ave.

Southwestern District

Shooting: A 36-year-old man was in an alley behind the first block of N. Catherine St. on Wednesday when a gunman demanded his money. When he replied he had none, the gunman shot him in the stomach. The victim was in serious condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Central District

Robbery: An 81-year-old resident of the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Ave. was near her home Wednesday when a man knocked her down and stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $300.

Towson Precinct

Escape attempt: Three inmates at the county Detention Center in the 400 block of Kenilworth Drive tried to escape Wednesday by removing molding around a window. They were seen by a correctional officer. All face attempted escape charges.

North Point Precinct

Assault: A 16-year-old resident of the 2800 block of Ross Ave. was in the 7300 block of North Point Road on Wednesday when he was assaulted by three males. The teen-ager suffered a possible skull fracture. He was in good condition yesterday at Franklin Square Hospital. No arrests had been made.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: A saddle valued at $1,000 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 7100 block of New Cut Road.

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: Stereo equipment and jewelry, all valued at $500, were stolen yesterday from a house in the 7200 block of Stony Barr Road.
