Cub Scout pack celebrates holidays with party

CUB SCOUT Pack 663, sponsored by American Legion Post jTC 276, celebrated the holiday season at its recent pack party. Scouts received a candy cane and a Pinewood Derby car kit. Bradley Clark received his Bear Badge and Chuck Snyder was awarded his Whitling Chip. The pack will hold a Pinewood Derby in January.

Beginning with breakfast

The Knights of Columbus will kick off the 1996 calendar of events with its first breakfast of the year from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday. The menu will include orange juice, eggs any style, ham, sausage, hot biscuits and gravy, pancakes and toast. The price is $3.50 for adults, $2.50 for children ages 6 to 12.

Bingo will continue to be held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, starting at 1 p.m. Jan. 14. All activities will be held in the council home on Becknel Avenue. The unit's meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

The council wishes to express its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the annual "Tootsie Roll" campaign.

* St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, in cooperation with the Knights of Columbus, will sponsor a bus trip to Washington on Jan. 22 for the annual March of Life. The public is invited to join this anti-abortion event.

Applique class set

Jan Carlson, who teaches quilting at Anne Arundel Community College, will teach a course introducing a variety of applique techniques.
