Lectures set on children and violence

Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church will sponsor a three-part lecture series on helping children deal with violence.

On Sunday, Dick Willis, executive director of Marylanders Against Handgun Abuse, will discuss handgun control. On Jan. 14, Nick Silvestri, a county school psychologist, will discuss how to prepare children to deal with violence. On Jan. 21, Dee Wright, a teacher and counselor, will explain how serious issues affect children and what is considered normal behavior.

Lectures will begin at 9:30 a.m. Reservations are requested. The church is at 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park.
