South Carroll High School senior Janice Geldmacher and sophomore Keith Long were selected as Students of the Month for October.
Janice is the daughter of Robert and Monica Geldmacher of Mount Airy. She is president of the National Honor Society and has a 4.0 grade point average. She was a semifinalist in the Maryland Distinguished Scholar competition.
She plays soccer, runs track, is treasurer of the Varsity Club and has been involved in the school's music program. Janice plans to major in engineering in college.
Keith is the son of Rick and Georgia Long of Sykesville. An honor roll student with a 4.0 grade point average, he also plays football and basketball.
He earned his Eagle Scout badge for a project at Piney Run Nature Center. He is involved in his church and the Sykesville Community Baseball League. He plans to attend college after graduation.
