A man walked into an Elkridge intersection yesterday morning, grabbed a man through his open car window and robbed him of $10, Howard County police said.

The driver, Robert Wesley Gillespie Jr., 51, of the 200 block of Keeton Way in Elkridge was not injured.

Police said Mr. Gillespie was driving his car on Meadowridge Road at about 11:45 a.m. when a bearded man in a green sweater walked into the path of his car at the Huntshire Drive intersection.

Mr. Gillespie slowed his car, and the man reached through the window, grabbed him and demanded money, police said.

He gave the man money from his pocket and the robber fled.

The robber was described as a black man in his 20s, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds and wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
