Liberty defeats Mount, 87-72 State

Peter Aluma scored 22 points to lead four Liberty players in double figures as the Flames (1-1) defeated Mount St. Mary's, 87-72, last night in a nonconference game in Lynchburg, Va.

Riley Inge led Mount St. Mary's (0-2) with 21 points.

* Bridgewater 82, Villa Julie 73: Scott Powers scored 20 points and Craig Tutt added 17 and four assists, leading visiting Bridgewater.

Shuron Matthews led Villa Julie with 27 points and Kelly Matthews added 19 points and 12 rebounds.

* Shaw 83, Bowie State 78: Jacques Adgers scored 20 points, leading Shaw (2-1) past host Bowie State (1-2).

Marquis Melton led Bowie State with 20 points.

Delaware 100, Washington College 58: Peca Arsic scored 18 points and Greg Smith added 17, leading host Delaware (1-0) over visiting Washington College (2-2).

* Virginia Wesleyan 78, Salisbury State 77: Percy Slight scored 22 points and James MacLeod added 13, leading Virginia Wesleyan (3-1) past Salisbury State (0-3).

Casey Musick (Cardinal Gibbons) led Salisbury State with 24 points.


* Bowie State 67, Shaw 52: Kim McCall scored 22 points, leading host Bowie State (1-0) past Shaw University (0-2).
