Ellicott City: 4700 block of Centennial Lane: Jewelry was taken from a home after its side door was forced open Thursday.

Ellicott City: 6600 block of U.S. 1: A box of coins was taken from a mobile home after its front door was pried open Thursday.

Ellicott City: 4900 block of Columbia Road: A television, VCR and telephone were taken from the basement of a home after its window was pried open Thursday.

Ellicott City: 8200 block of U.S. 1: Jewelry and CDs were taken from a vacant mobile home Tuesday or Wednesday.

Elkridge: 7100 block of Brookdale Drive: Howard County police arrested two teen-agers Sunday after responding to a call for a breaking and entering in progress at the Baltimore-Washington Auto Exchange. The teens -- identified as a 16-year-old Pasadena boy and Eric Allen Miller, 18, of the 5900 block of Setter Drive in Elkridge -- were charged with breaking through a fence and entering the building through a unlocked door.
