Churches offer some musical performances to help you get in the Christmas spirit

GETTING ready for the holidays? Why not take time out from your busy schedule to listen to some spiritual Christmas music.

Arundel Singers to perform

The annual Christmas performance by the Arundel Singers will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday at Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church. Come hear the traditional songs of Christmas plus other special music. Everyone is invited to attend. A free-will offering will be collected during the concert.

* The church will sponsor an Advent Workshop at 6 p.m. Sunday.

There will be opportunities for everyone (all ages) to make decorations for the home in preparation for the season. Everything is provided. Just bring yourselves and your holiday spirits.

The church is at 110 Townsend Ave.

Christmas program planned

Be sure to get your tickets for the Christmas Dinner Musical Program taking place at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at Brooklyn United Methodist Church, Fourth Street and Pontiac Avenue.

Entertainment will be presented by The Notables, a 40-member music group from the local chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Call 355-8740.

PTSA board to meet

The North County High School PTSA Executive Board will meet at 6 p.m. tomorrow in the office conference room.

* Pick-up for "Christmas Around the World" merchandise that was purchased through the band parents party will be available the evening of Dec. 4.

St. John classes set

St. John Lutheran Church will offer two sessions for those who are interested in becoming members of St. John's community or for those desiring to be restored to membership. These classes will be offered from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 in the pastor's study.

Improvement group to meet

The Arundel Improvement Association will meet at 8 p.m. Dec. 12 at the AIA Hall.

This meeting was rescheduled from November. Discussion will include the election of officers for 1996.

The association hall is at 705 Cross St.
