City man charged with theft of cologne, assault

November 23, 1995

County police arrested a Baltimore man Tuesday and charged him with stealing cologne from the Hecht's store at Marley Station then punching and biting store employees.

A security officer told police he saw a man walk into the store about noon with an empty shopping bag. The man went to the cologne section, took four boxes of Polo from a display and put them in the empty bag, police said.

The security officer stopped the man outside and confronted him, police said. The man punched the officer and bit two employees who came to help, police said. The officer handcuffed the man and held him until police arrived.

Arthur Hill, 27, of Carey Street was charged with theft and assault, police said.
