Baltimore man arrested at store on drug charge

A South Baltimore man was arrested on disorderly conduct and drug possession charges Friday night after a police officer ,, found him lying on the floor of a 7-Eleven store in the 4000 block of Ritchie Highway, police said.

The officer arrived at the store shortly after 9:30 p.m. When he asked the man to stand up, the man refused, police said.

The officer repeated his request, smelled alcohol on the man's breath and tried to help him up, police said. The man then fell into the store's hot dog warmer, almost knocking it over, police said.

James Lee Conyers, 39, of the 2700 block of Bookert Drive in Cherry Hill was charged with disorderly intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was charged with possession of cocaine after police searched him and found a piece of waxed paper with cocaine in his coat pocket, police said.
