Odenton Knights of Columbus keeps tradition of memorial Mass for deceased members

Each year, as is customary throughout the Knights of Columbus, the Archbishop Keough Council in Odenton joins all other councils in celebrating a memorial Mass for its deceased members.

In the Catholic Church, November is devoted to remembering the souls who have departed. In keeping with this tradition, the Keough Council Mass was offered at its home on Becknel Avenue on Nov. 8.

The Rev. John Harrison, council chaplain, officiated.

After a homily, 34 candles in a large cross were lighted one by one as the name of each person was called in the order of their anniversary dates: Bernard Fink, Edward J. Wrzesinski, John G. Marchak, Thomas H. Goode, Max F. Blob, Edward J. Crone, James A. Pruett, the Rev. Hugh T. Corrigan, Elmer F. Davis, John H. O'Lexey, William G. Brown, George E. Eble, Louis M. Firlie, Paul R. Speidell, John L. Lee, Lawrence J. Crone Sr., Raymond C. Fink, Anthony Gill, Fred C. Johnson Sr., Anthony L. Pios, Manuel J. Silva, Frank M. Hines, Miguel A. Ramos, Stephen J. Zaklan, Stephen A. Marchak, Jimmy R. Cubello, Richard D. Huddy Sr., Richard C. Reno, Enzio S. Rebecki, the Rev. John F. Kresslein, John L. Walsh, Edward J. Grabowski, Philip M. Wascak and Leonard J. Misko.


Epiphany Episcopal Church will hold its sixth annual Christmas Bazaar and English Tea from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2.

Crafts, new Christmas items, white elephants, jewelry, Salvadoran and Guatemalan handcrafts and baked goods will be available.

Two exquisite handmade angel dolls will be awarded as prizes in the church raffle. Also available will be 1-pound bags of shelled pecan halves for $5.50 per pound.

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold a reception for legislators and their assistants from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Kaufmann's Restaurant, 329 Gambrills Road in Gambrills.

Congressional representatives in districts 1, 3 and 5, state delegates and senators in districts 32 and 33, and the County Council member from District 4 have been invited.

Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., Constellation Real Estate Inc. and Bell Atlantic Maryland are the corporate sponsors.

The cost is $10 for chamber members, $20 for nonmembers.
