Motorist charged with attacking man helping him to change tire

November 21, 1995

Police arrested a motorist Friday and charged him with assaulting a Jessup man who was helping him change a tire, county police said.

Richard B. Harrison of the 2900 block of Jessup Road told police he was helping the motorist with the tire at the Shell gas station in the 2700 block of Annapolis Road in Jessup shortly after 8 p.m. when the motorist became belligerent and began fighting him, a police report said.

Mr. Harrison defended himself and the fight ended quickly, police said.

Officer Rahn L. Honablue asked the man some questions, and then grabbed the man's wrist to arrest him. The man pulled away and began to struggle with Officer Honablue, police said. Two other officers arrived to help subdue the man.

Kenneth Yates McPherson, 43, of the 700 block of 209th St. in Pasadena was charged with assault and battery against Mr.

Harrison and with resisting arrest.
